Celona Consulting prepares planning drawing packages for homeowners, developers, architects, planning consultants and commercial clients.
We can develop drawings from our own measured survey, work from information supplied by the project team or provide additional CAD capacity for an established design practice.
Drawings prepared for the application
The information required will depend on the property, proposed work and type of planning application.
We review the project and relevant validation requirements before agreeing the drawing package. Each drawing is produced at an appropriate recognised scale and clearly distinguishes between the existing and proposed development.

Starting with reliable existing information
Accurate planning drawings depend on a clear record of the existing building and site.
Where suitable drawings are not available, Celona can undertake a measured building, topographical or drone survey. The survey information can then be developed into coordinated plans, elevations and sections.
If drawings are supplied by the client or another consultant, we review their suitability and identify any information that may need to be confirmed.
Communicating the design clearly
Planning drawings should allow the local planning authority and neighbouring parties to understand the proposal without unnecessary technical detail.
We focus on clear linework, consistent annotation and accurate relationships between the drawings. Materials, levels, openings and important site features are shown where relevant to the proposal.
Visualisations can also be prepared where three-dimensional information would help explain the scale, appearance or setting of the development.
New applications and drawing revisions
We can prepare drawings for new planning applications or amend an existing package following design changes, pre-application advice or comments from the planning authority.
Our service can be limited to CAD production from an agreed design or combined with Celona’s architectural design, heritage and planning support.
Planning decisions remain with the local planning authority, and the preparation of drawings cannot guarantee that consent will be granted.
