Accurate existing information for design and construction
Every successful project begins with a reliable understanding of the existing building and site.
Celona Consulting provides topographical surveys, measured building surveys and building scans for architects, engineers, developers, contractors and property owners.
Our CAD Office converts the captured information into clear drawings, point-cloud data and coordinated digital models that can be used for feasibility, planning, technical design and construction.
[Discuss Your Survey Requirements]
A survey tailored to the project
The amount of information required depends on how the survey will be used.
An early feasibility study may need a general record of the site and building, while a detailed refurbishment project may require floor levels, structural features, service positions and more complex internal geometry.
We agree the required outputs, coverage and level of detail before attending the site. This helps ensure the survey captures the information the design team needs without creating unnecessary data.
Survey outputs can include:
- Existing floor plans and roof plans
- External and internal elevations
- Building and site sections
- Topographical plans and level information
- Boundaries, walls, access routes and visible features
- Door, window and structural element positions
- Point-cloud and scan information
- AutoCAD drawings and Revit models
Topographical surveys
A topographical survey records the physical features and levels across a site.
This can include buildings, boundaries, roads, paths, walls, trees, drainage covers and visible services. The information helps the project team understand how the site relates to its surroundings and how levels may influence access, drainage and the proposed development.
The required survey area, control, accuracy and deliverables are agreed around the intended purpose of the information.
Measured building surveys
Our measured building surveys record the existing layout, dimensions and key architectural features of a property.
We capture the information needed to produce coordinated plans, elevations and sections. Where relevant, the survey can also record floor and ceiling levels, wall thicknesses, openings, structural features and visible building services.
Our architectural experience helps us recognise which details are likely to affect later design decisions.
Building scans and point-cloud information
Building scanning provides an efficient way to capture complex geometry and create a detailed digital record of an existing property.
The resulting scan data can support CAD production, Revit modelling and design coordination. It is particularly useful for irregular buildings, historic properties and refurbishment projects where the existing structure may not follow standard dimensions.
Scanning does not remove the need for professional interpretation. We review the captured information and convert it into usable drawings or models suited to the agreed project requirements.
From site information to CAD and Revit
Survey data only becomes valuable when the wider design team can use it confidently.
Our CAD Office develops the captured information into organised AutoCAD drawings or Revit models. Files can be prepared around the client’s templates, naming conventions and required drawing standards.
This provides a more direct route from the site survey to the next stage of design.
Why choose Celona?
We combine surveying, architectural knowledge, CAD production and Revit modelling within one coordinated service.
The same team understands how the information is captured, interpreted and developed into project drawings, reducing gaps between the survey and design stages.
Start with the right existing information
Whether you require a site-level survey, drawings of an existing building or a detailed digital scan, we can recommend a scope suited to your project.
